Detailed Researched Ingredients
1. Curcumin C3 Complex ®
Recent research has revealed that free radicals play an important role in the progression of aging and related conditions. Curcumin C3 Complex ® , a unique composition of three curcuminoids, is a standardized extract from turmeric, or Curcuma longa. Unlike other antioxidants, there are two particular modes of antioxidant action of curcuminoids. The "prevention mode" prevents the formation of free radicals. The second mechanism, the "intervention mode", neutralizes the already formed free radicals by free radical scavenging. Curcumin C3 Complex ® is therefore considered an effective "Bioprotectant" due to its dual activity of prevention and intervention.1

2. Beta carotene
Beta carotene is a fat soluble carotenoid which is converted in the intestinal wall to Vitamin A. The excess beta carotene performs important antioxidant functions. Beta carotene has been proven to destroy reactive oxygen species generated by ultra violet rays and damaging chemicals, thereby preventing degenerative free radical chain reactions in the body. Clinical studies support the efficacy of beta carotene in preventing oxidative damage to the skin, eyes and lungs 1.

3. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is fat soluble and therefore acts as an antioxidant in cell membranes and other tissues that contain fat. The tocopherols are an effective form of Vitamin E, useful in preventing the oxidation of fats and intervening in the progression of free radical chain reactions. Clinical studies have revealed the role of Vitamin E in supporting heart health(1) , providing support to immune functions in the elderly (2) , offering protection to structures of the eye (3,4) and retarding the progression of degenerative conditions (5).

4. Rosemary extract
Rosemary extract has been acclaimed for its antioxidant properties, attributed to the presence of compounds such as carnosic acid, carnosol, rosemarydiphenol and others. These compounds promote health by preventing lipid oxidation by quenching damaging free radicals. They are proven to possess general health promoting properties 1,2.

5. L-Selenomethionine
L-Selenomethionine is a safe form of supplemental selenium. Selenium is an essential trace element in nutrition for the maintenance of health. Epidemiologic investigations indicate an association between low selenium status and below-optimum cardiovascular function. Selenium is also an effective detoxicant antioxidant due to its role in the glutathione peroxidase detoxification mechanism, which protects cellular components from oxidative stress and damage. Glutathione is involved in the quenching of free radicals and detoxification of certain harmful chemicals. Clinical studies correlate health status and general well being with the blood levels of selenium 1.

6. Alpha-Lipoic Acid
An efficient antioxidant, Alpha-Lipoic Acid at high dose levels has been shown to increase glucose uptake, indicating potential utility in the management of blood glucose levels. When blood glucose levels are high, proteins tend to bind with glucose, precipitating oxidative damage. Alpha-Lipoic Acid supplementation reduces glycation of proteins, thereby offering protection. Alpha-Lipoic Acid also protects against cholesterol oxidation to promote cardiovascular health1 .

7. N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), is a stable form of L-cysteine, an amino acid that participates in several metabolic reactions in the body. Recent research has revealed the ability of this compound to function as a detoxicant and antioxidant in the body, providing protection against various system dysfunctions by enhancing glutathione production.1,2

8. Green tea extract
Green tea (Camellia sinensis) is acclaimed for its antioxidant properties, attributed to the presence of polyphenols such as epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). These compounds promote health by preventing lipid oxidation. They are proven to possess general health promoting properties. 1,2

9. Bioperine®
Bioperine® is a standardized extract obtained from black pepper, containing not less than 95% piperine. It is a natural bioavailability enhancer for nutrients and is proven to improve the uptake and utilization of several nutritional supplements, including vitamins, antioxidants and minerals.1,2
