Coffees delicate taste is affected by how it is grown, so Cafe Alura takes special care in growing, picking and proecessing each and every coffee bean. Each tree is harvested three times during the
season, picking only the ripened red berries. The coffee is then washed in rainwater and dried under the sun to bring out the fullest flavor.
Cafe Altura chooses only the superior grade beans, then the coffee is hand sorted to remove any unevenly sized beans.This ensures the most
consistantly even roasting and elimnates any trace of biterness from burnt beans.
Cafe Altura farmers use organic practices that follow and foster coffee's natural cycle. Organic cultivation and fertilization provide coffee trees with the proper nutrients to produce a rich, healthy crop which in turn creates rich, enjoyable coffee.
Roasted Coffee:
Roasting can be explained simply as "the cooking of coffee". However, it is an art of an experienced roaster that brings out the best taste in coffee. Coffee beans are "green" and hard as rocks just before they are put into the roasting unit.
Reaching temperatures of nearly 500 degrees, the beans darken as they "roast" and develop their flavor. Beans that are roasted longer tend to have a darker and stronger taste.
House Blend: This is a perfect coffee for any occasion!
A blend of mild Mexican coffees that provide the sweet, mild taste of Cafe Altura's Regular Roast coffees with the robust tang of their French Roast. Cafe Altura's House Blend is mild acidity with a light body.
